A competition created to
bring art into new settings.
The GCH Award is an initiative created to promote contemporary art, supporting national artistic production and strengthening the dialogue between art and architecture. The first and second editions were held in partnership with Meridiano, the Argentine Chamber of Contemporary Art Galleries, offering artists from across the country the opportunity to bring their ideas to new settings and scales.
GCH Award Second Edition 2025
The second edition of the Award invited artists from across the country represented by galleries that are members of Meridiano to submit original proposals for an intervention on the construction hoarding at Aura Núñez. The selected works engage in dialogue with the identity of the building and the surrounding urban environment.

A painting depicting a day by the sea. Juliana works on the floor, using brushes made from brooms and cloths, allowing the paint in its most fluid state to guide the movement. Colors emerge against a black background, creating the impression that the image moves from darkness into light—a dialogue that resonates with the interplay of light and shadow in Aura Núñez’s architecture.

A visual dialogue between the future promised by Aura Núñez and the memory of the neighborhood. Balconies, windows and cornices come apart and float, intertwined with the area’s Art Deco geometries. A central axis divides the piece into two mirrored halves: day and night, past and future. Created by hand using traditional architectural drawing tools, the work reclaims the human line in an age of renders and screens.

A black-and-white mural where organic forms are in constant transformation. Branches, flowers, leaves and ferns intertwine to create a jungle-like space, while unexpected characters—from internet memes to native animals—remain hidden within it, emerging as the viewer explores the work. An atmosphere of controlled chaos that celebrates the diversity and disorder of life.
GCH Award First Edition 2023
The first edition of the GCH Award invited more than 1,000 artists represented by the 66 galleries that are members of Meridiano to submit proposals for an intervention on the esplanade of Selene Libertador, our exclusive tower located in La Lucila, Vicente López. The winning work was Geometría afectiva, by Elba Bairon: a sculpture that celebrates the fluidity of curves and invites the public to discover it from every angle.
